LO2/A Learning to Ride my Skateboard Again

When I was younger, I would always love to go skateboarding. I started skating when I was around 8 years old, and I couldn't stop. I started going to the skatepark constantly to improve my skills. I even ended up having to beg my mom during school days to take me to the skatepark for an hour so that I could have the enjoyment of riding my skateboard. I kept on skating until I was around 13 when I started to not do it as much. The reason being that this was the point when I became super busy with different extracurriculars and homework, which caused me to stop skateboarding as much. However, 4 years later, I rekindled my love for skateboarding after trying it again on my summer vacation.

My family for the past two years has taken a trip to California in the summer. Before we went, I was undecided if I should take my skateboard or not. After thinking about it for a while, I gave in and decided to bring my skateboard with the doubt that I would end up using it. When I got to California, to my surprise, I found myself riding my skateboard. Although, there were a lot of challenges that I experienced as I hadn't done this difficult activity in 4 years. One of these larger challenges that I faced was that I became discouraged because I wasn't anywhere as good as I had been when I was constantly skating many years ago. I then thought to myself that the only way I am going to get better is if I work hard for what I wanted. This motivated me to ride my skateboard, learn new tricks, and even go to the skatepark. I began to re-develop my old skills from the process of riding my skateboard as well as develop new skills that I hadn't learned when I was younger. In summary, I realized that the process of learning a new skill and landing a new trick was an uncomparable pleasure to the small displeasure of the learning curve that I had to go through again to learn how to skateboard.
