LO5/A Golfing with My Dad

Today I decided I wanted to go to the golf range to try and work on my swing. I knew I was having trouble as I was hitting some pretty bad shots at my golf lesson, and I wanted to see if I could fix anything. As I was walking out the door, I asked my dad if he would like to join me. He was super excited and responded with a "yes, that sounds fun." We then drove over to Herman Park to hit our golf clubs.

Once we got there, we bought some golf balls, walked over to the driving range, and then started hitting. I was off to a good start by hitting the balls pretty straight, but then things began taking a turn for the worse. The golf balls were now hooking really far right. I kept on hitting and trying to readjust my swing, but nothing was working. I became so frustrated with myself as I couldn't hit a good swing. My dad could see the anger boiling up inside of me and told me that he would help me with my swing. So, I asked if he could look at my swing from the side to see what I was doing. Immediately after my first swing, he told me how my face was open. An open face would cause the ball to hook to the right. I then adjusted my swing accordingly, but it still wasn't perfect. I proceed to look at how I was gripping the club and I saw that it was totally messed up. I fixed my grip, hit a shot, and saw that it went perfectly straight. As one can see, my dad and I worked collaboratively to figure out what was wrong with my golf swing. He pointed out the face of the club was open, and I saw that I had to change my grip. If we didn't work together, then I would have never figured out how to correct my golf swing. Overall, the benefits of working together were far greater than working alone.
