LO6/A Biking Over Driving

Carbon emissions are a serious problem that is plaguing our community. Over the last couple of weeks, I have been trying to ride my bike over using the car. An example of this was when I wanted to go to the Rice Village on a Friday to grab some food. I was thinking about using my car, as I usually would drive. However, I began thinking about the carbon emissions that were being emitted from my car when I was driving around. I then decided I was going to ride my bike because there was no need to take my car. I had gotten so used to just grabbing my keys, hopping in the car, and driving that I didn't realize the consequences of my actions. Another example of riding my bike was when I wanted to go to the park. I was originally going to drive because it was a little farther away, but I decided against it.  Previous times I would drive to the park to walk around, but this time I chose to ride my bike.
After looking at these examples, one can clearly see that I was engaging in a global issue by choosing not to drive my car. Considering that one person not driving a car might not make a significant change, it is still a change nonetheless. I am trying to contribute my part to help against the growing issue of carbon emissions in the United States by riding my bike over driving my car.
