LO2/S Volunteering at the Community Garden

A while back, my parents asked me if I wanted to go to volunteer at a community garden later that day. I said "Yes" as I wanted to help volunteer. With this being said, I waited a couple hours until we left the house and headed over to the community garden. Once we got there, we were greeted by the person leading the volunteer experience at the garden as well as other eager volunteers just like myself. The lead person then started to talk about what we were going to do. He said that we would be working in groups to help pick weeds and prepare the soil for plants that would be planted. Once he said this, I got in a group with my mom, dad, and another family. We decided as a group that we were going to pick weeds. This means we went over to one of the vegetable beds to start picking weeds. Everyone in my group was picking weeds and not seeming to have a problem. However, about an hour later I started to have some trouble with my back. My back started to be in excruciating amounts of pain due to me being bent over while standing up. I was really struggling, but my mom told me to squat down instead of standing up. As I started to squat, it really helped my back. I then developed the skill of squatting and walking while picking weeds.

As one can see from this experience, some of my challenges were dealing with my back. I was in a lot of pain because I was leaning over while standing up for a really long time. I was trying to push through the pain, but it was too severe. Although, I then developed the new skill of squatting and walking. This allowed me to relieve the pain in my back and become more proficient with picking weeds.
