LO7/C Cooking and Sharing Thanksgiving
During the morning of Thanksgiving, I decided I wanted to help my mom cook for Thanksgiving dinner. So, I went to go help my mom who was already prepping food in the kitchen. We started by making green beans. I first grabbed the air fryer to cook the green beans in. Then I put the green beans in the air fryer along with some garlic. Next, I started to help my mom with the spinach artichoke dip. We used mayonnaise, spinach, artichoke hearts, and parmesan cheese. I was the one that combined the ingredients together and then put them in a bowl to be cooked. We then started prepping the main dish: lobster pasta. I put the lobsters in a boiling pot of water. I waited for five minutes, and then I took them out and cooled them off in some cold water. After, my mom and I worked to help pull the tail meat out to use in our pasta. Once we finished that, I got a pot and put some water in it for the pasta. After 15 minutes, it started boiling, which meant it was time to put the pasta in. Next, I got started on the mashed potatoes. My mom and I put them in boiling water so that they would soften. I then told my mom I wanted to share this Thanksgiving meal with our community, so I put in extra potatoes to make a plate of mashed potatoes for my neighbors. After the next few hours, everything was finished and ready to be eaten and shared.
As one can see my ethics are for helping people. I decided in the morning that I was going to help my mom cook Thanksgiving dinner because it is a difficult task that one shouldn't do alone. Moreover, another one of my ethics consists of sharing. I think it is incredibly important to share whenever you can. With this being said, I went to make a plate of mashed potatoes for our neighbors, as I feel this is a good way to engage and help with my community. Overall, my ethics for helping people and sharing are strong inside me, and I plan to further develop them more throughout my life.
