LO7/S Harvesting Plants and Prepping Soil

At my Sunday school, our group was notified that we were going to a community garden to help harvest plants and prepare the soil. With this being said, we all got in our cars and went to the garden. As everyone started to arrive, we met with the person that owned the garden. He was a very nice person that explained that we would be harvesting carrots, onions, and turnips from his garden. We would then also prep the soil for the next batch of veggies to be planted. My Sunday school group split into two groups, one was going to harvest the vegetables while the other group was going to prepare the soil. I decided to go with the group that was harvesting vegetables because this was apparently one of the more difficult tasks to do. The vegetable picking group ended up picking all of the ripe carrots, onions, and turnips from the garden. We then went to go prep the soil with the soil prepping group.

As one can see, the ethics of my choices include wanting to help the local garden. While this was a service event, I didn't look at it as something I wasn't interested in, but something where I could give back to the community. There were also the ethics of my actions including wanting to support my other classmates who volunteered in harvesting the vegetables because it was one of the hardest tasks. Overall, the ethics of my choices and actions were to help the local garden and to support my fellow classmates in doing a difficult task.
