LO1/S Babysitting My Neighbors

Not too long ago, my neighbors asked my mom if she knew anyone that could babysit their kids while they were gone. My mom immediately said that I would be able to do it. When I got home that day, my mom told me that I was going to be babysitting for the neighbors while the parents left for the night. I was excited as I had babysat before, but also a little worried as I hadn't spent a lot of time with the neighbors even though they live right next to us. After a few hours went by, I walked a few steps to my neighbor's house at around 7:00 PM.

When I went to my neighbors, the parents answered me with a warm welcome and told me that the kids were to be in bed by 9:30 PM. I then walked inside, closed the door, and waved the parents goodbye. I walked into the TV room and said "Hi" as well as reintroduced myself. The kids were a little shy, but I was sure that I could try and change that. The night started off by first playing monopoly, then playing video games, then eating ice cream sundaes, then playing more video games, and then finally going to bed. Looking back at this time, I used my strengths of knowing what makes a fun babysitting time from the past, being charismatic, and being able to entertain kids. I played their favorite games and gave them delicious desserts. However, I still have areas of growth from this babysitting experience. One of the areas of growth I think would be to figure out how to make it so the kids weren't as shy. The kids were laughing and overall seeming like they were having a good time, but the kids were still shy in regards to talking. I feel that I can improve by just babysitting the neighbors more and letting them get to know me. In summary, I realized that even though I am good at something, there are always going to be aspects in which I can improve.
