LO6/C Cleaning the Beaches
On my holiday break, I went to Del Mar - a city in California - to go surfing with my family. However, surfing wasn't the only thing that I did. One of the important things that my family did while we were in Del Mar on vacation was to help the community by picking up trash on the beaches. An incredibly large global issue at the moment is marine pollution. While we didn't go in the water to find pieces of trash, there was quite a bit that was washed on the beach. This is a serious issue as it affects marine life who don't know any better than to eat this trash and then die. It is very sad, and we humans shouldn't be so careless. With this being said, my mom, dad, brother, and I decided we were going to pick up trash one morning. When that morning came, we got trash bags and walked around the beach together looking for trash. Not surprisingly, there was a lot of trash that we picked up. We ended up doing this for a couple of hours because we felt that we should do our part in helping the global issue of marine pollution. Overall, the entire family including myself felt extremely happy that we were helping to save the happy marine animals and birds.
As one can see, I helped the community in Del Mar by picking up pollution that was plaguing the beaches. I engaged in the global issue of marine pollution by throwing trash away that would otherwise harm marine animals and birds that might try and eat it. I think that people should pick up trash on the beach at least once on any beach vacation they go on. This is because it is always better to leave a place better than when you found it.
